Torso Progress Report Part 2

This weeks progress was on the torso.  Now for a little background, some of you may have thought "Why doesn't Greg just get a new Tim K./Mike J. torso and start from that point? Instead of doing all this work on his current torso. "  Well, the answer is Mike made this torso for me.  We swapped parts, my collar for his torso and he did most of the prep work including drilling all the holes.  So, this torso has some segmental value for me.

The beginning work went very well, Here's the tool that got most of the work done.

I highly recommend this sander for getting into small areas. This picture was taken with the extension attachment on the front.  It work perfect in getting in between the ridges on the front of the torso like around the arm holes and the neon frame work.

Here's a close up of the texture before I got started.

Different shots at difference angles to show the work that was done.  Front side.

Back Side.

Left Side.

Closer shot of the front.

I sanded this flat as that I have gotten metal rings for a better look.

This is a real close up after using 120 grit sandpaper and the sander.

What is required now is more detailed sanding in the corners and edges, along with several coats of primer filler.  I will start with a coat of primer and then switch to 400 grit wet sanding for the remaining time that I spend on this.  It doesn't have to be absolutely prefect as that it will be getting a new finer texture before the final coat of paint.

That's it for now.
